Dalek Attack Regenerated can load mods: folders or zip files of
replacement art and sound that you drop into the game's mods
folder and switch on under ESCAPE → MODS. A mod can change:
Mix several at once, or let a mod add variations that the game picks between at random: a street of Daleks where no two look quite the same.
To start from the real artwork, ask the game to write it out from your own copy:
love dalek_regenerated.love --dump-art
That fills a folder called art_dump with every picture and every
tile, named exactly as a mod wants them, and a numbered sheet of each city's
tiles. Copy the ones you want to change into a mod, paint over them, and
switch it on. The full guide, MODDING.md, comes with the game.
Please share only your own work. A mod made of the original game's art, even repainted, still contains it — share the changes, not the game.
Dalek Attack Regenerated is an unofficial, non-commercial fan project. It is a
reimplementation of the game engine only and contains no graphics, sound,
music or data from the original game: you need your own copy of
Dalek Attack (Admiral Software, 1992) to play it.
Doctor Who, the Daleks, the TARDIS and Davros belong to their respective owners,
including the BBC and the estate of Terry Nation. This project is not affiliated
with or endorsed by any of them.
